🇪🇹 Ethiopia
THE BIRTHPLACE OF COFFEE
Coffee originated in Ethiopia — specifically in the Kaffa region, where wild coffee plants still grow today. Ethiopian coffees are among the most complex and distinctive in the world.
Flavour profile: Floral, jasmine, bergamot, blueberry, lemon, wine-like. Bright acidity, light to medium body.
Key regions: Yirgacheffe, Sidama, Harrar, Guji
Best as: Filter, pour over, light roast espresso
🇨🇴 Colombia
THE CROWD PLEASER
Colombia's diverse microclimates and high-altitude growing regions produce consistently excellent, approachable coffees. The ideal entry point for specialty coffee.
Flavour profile: Caramel, red apple, hazelnut, milk chocolate, citrus. Balanced acidity, medium body.
Key regions: Huila, Nariño, Antioquia, Cauca
Best as: Espresso, latte, filter — extremely versatile
🇧🇷 Brazil
THE ESPRESSO WORKHORSE
Brazil is the world's largest coffee producer. Brazilian coffees are known for their full body, low acidity, and chocolatey sweetness — making them the backbone of most espresso blends.
Flavour profile: Dark chocolate, nuts, brown sugar, low acidity, full body.
Key regions: Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Bahía
Best as: Espresso, milk-based drinks, dark roast blends
🇰🇪 Kenya
THE BOLD ONE
Kenyan coffee is bold, distinctive, and polarising — you either love it or find it too intense. Grown at high altitude with a unique processing system that produces extraordinary complexity.
Flavour profile: Blackcurrant, tomato, grapefruit, wine-like, intense acidity, full body.
Key regions: Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a
Best as: Filter, pour over, light roast
🇬🇹 Guatemala
THE RICH & COMPLEX
Guatemala's volcanic soils and diverse microclimates produce rich, complex coffees with excellent body and depth. A favourite for espresso blends and single-origin filter.
Flavour profile: Dark chocolate, spice, brown sugar, dried fruit, medium-high acidity.
Key regions: Antigua, Huehuetenango, Atitlán
Best as: Espresso, filter, medium roast
🇮🇩 Indonesia (Sumatra)
THE EARTHY OUTLIER
Sumatran coffees are unlike anything else — processed using a unique wet-hulling method that produces a distinctive earthy, herbal character. Not for everyone, but beloved by those who appreciate it.
Flavour profile: Earthy, tobacco, cedar, dark chocolate, low acidity, very full body.
Key regions: Mandheling, Gayo, Lintong
