Turkish Coffee serving suggestion Around the world

World

Turkish Coffee

A small-cup coffee prepared in a cezve, with the grounds left to settle.

Serves: 1Style: Hot
What you need
  • Very finely ground coffee suitable for Turkish preparation
  • Cold filtered water, measured for your cup and cezve
  • Sugar, optional
  • Cardamom, optional
How to make it
  1. Put the measured water, coffee and any sugar or cardamom in the cezve, using a recipe appropriate for your pot and cup.
  2. Heat gently, stirring at the start. Watch the coffee as it foams and rises.
  3. Remove from the heat before it boils over.
  4. Pour carefully into the cup and allow the grounds to settle before drinking.
Important

A Turkish-fine grind is required; instant coffee is not the same preparation. Whole beans need grinding appropriately. Use your cezve instructions for quantities and safe handling.
